Faster mainframes (computers), among other things. They also make an ideal battery... No commercial use for now - these things are too cold. Keeping them cold is expensive. More expensive than any potential promise. They were discovered in 1911, so the promise could have been used in the previous mania :) If they ever find stuff that superconducts at room temperature (and a good material), then there are lots of patents already from the old era.
