RE:"As to the decline in love-fest posting, I think a stock falling more than 90% from its 52-week high and representing interest in a corporation that has been found guilty of civil fraud tends to have a limited number of admirers."

It appears there are still a couple of true believers.
OTOH, the plain arrogance and greed of some longs takes investing irrationality to new levels.
Unfortunately for them, lack of knowledge is taken care of by the markets.

Eric,
This board is not unique in having a few brain-deads, to use your terminology. Coping with such is part of the ticket price for dropping in.

I have never thought of this thread as "love-fest" posting, but of course others might see it differently. I would agree that your characterization is appropriate for the Yahoo board.

As for the sharp decline in the stock, unfortunately Rambus has joined a long list of other techs who have suffered a similar fate during the last 15 months - CSCO, SUNW, CREE, JDSU, SNDK, etc. etc. etc.

Concerning the fraud issue, let's wait and see how things play out.

Word up!

I've been skimming this board for almost two years-- there has never been a pattern of intelligent discourse. There was Zeev Hed and a couple of other essentially pro-RAMBus people who tended to make posts that were interesting, coherent, and/or useful, plus a couple dozen occasionally brain-dead longs who were basically operating in the vein of a Stalinist in Eastern Europe in the mid to late 40s. There were also fewer than a dozen people who generally intelligently hacked RAMBus from a variety of different perspectives (some legal, some technical, some ethical, some all of the above).

There was exceedingly rarely any non-drivel-based discourse exchanged between opposing sides. As to the decline in love-fest posting, I think a stock falling more than 90% from its 52-week high and representing interest in a corporation that has been found guilty of civil fraud tends to have a limited number of admirers.

I'm down with that. Its about as valid a description as you can get of any of these boards. Frankly if it weren't for the unmitigated foolishness of the personal attacks Mr. B was taking here back in 98 or 99 I doubt that I'd be reading let alone posting on this thread.

...Of course, but for his "keen" incites - I'd have probably invested a bundle in this puppy and become independently wealthy. ...Then again, considering my greedy Mom & Pop Buy and Hold genes, I'd of been averaging down for the past 1.5 years and be pumping this baby for a quick $30/sh pop just to get back to break even! <Ho Ha 8->

But $30, $11 or $5. Whatever the share price of this FRAUD I have no problem with folks pumping it or dumping it. The personal attacks on the morals, ethics and motivations of my fellow posters I can do without. That's too close to the neo-Nazi, 3k game for my tastes. ...Not that I would put the Stalinistas in that category. Papa Joe didn't give a fat rat about your morals. That sucker was an equal opportunity killer. He took out everybody. And he played it that way from the late '10's through as much of the '50's as he could drag his carcass. He's got to be the all time record holder for trashing his brethren and sistren. Tells you something about our capacity for evil and acceptance of same doesn't it.

...Well, in any case we are still free to "spit" at officially declared FRAUDS in this country without fear of being shot. I say "spit" while the spittin's easy, cause tomorrow you just never know. <Ho Ha 8->
