Whether his strategies are right or wrong is not the point. The point is, why must he be called a moron even if he did choose the wrong strategy? History views Sir Isaac Newton as quite a brilliant thinker. (the apple falling on the head guy). He was quite a public figure in his time, including being a member of Parliament. He got sucked into the mania surrounding the South Sea Bubble in the 18th century. He sold out with handsome gains, saw that the stock just kept going up and made the mistake of jumping back in. He knew it was a bubble but just couldn't resist. He ended up losing over a million bucks in current dollars. Does history consider him a moron? Mark Twain is reported to have lost much of his income from writing in investment schemes including biotech! (such as it was at the turn of the century). Does history view Mark Twain as a moron?
