Hi Sig,

Like you, I found the whole thing of whisper numbers and making or not making them incredibly manipulated. In the last up cycle, stocks were getting hammered if they met their official number but not their whisper number. Just who sets the whisper number, and on what basis?

Dell has said on two occasions that they will meet their projections i.e. 0.17/share. They may very well have a little extra there, since they have been so confident of late, but I'd hate to have us taken out for NOT making some dubious, silly whisper number.

What it would take to move the stock strongly ahead now would be some good news in the conference call about margins not eroding as much as some analysists have hypothesised, and projections on good sales growth in Asia and Europe, if not North America.

I've done my part for the next Q; ordered a Dimension 8100 on Friday night. The recent price drops and a free upgrade to a CD-RW were too much to resist.

May this be a good week for all Dell longs!!
