If you look at the proceedings from Microprocessor Forum last fall, you will see that several where presented.

The most popular ones being from MIPS and Hitachi/ST.

Intel keeps making this same mistake. Some suit reads about a DSP or embedded processor like the one used in a lot of printers (details below) and says "that thing is cheap to make and it's specs look MUCH better than the current Xmhz 32bit pentium. Copy that architecture!

And they wind up with a "general purpose" CPU that isn't any good for anything but raid controllers, network cards, and printer imaging engines. They did it with i860/i960 and they're continuing the tradition with Itanium and P4.
