But is it true, or just perceived to be true based on a misinterpretation misrepresentation of a data point?

And how soon will it be used? Once use starts it should multiply rapidly.

GLW sure keeps selling and says fiber business is strong? So somebody, somewhere, hasn't got it right? Right?

Take a look at the telcom/fiber optics stocks and they show the real situation. Don't expect the same growth rates in past years to suddenly come back.
