RE Of course, who knows what is on that die. Probably not palo at all

Yes, It would seem rather stupid of them to put up an actual picture of a palomino die but your numbers do make sense.
If true...as suspected, we know why we won´t see too many desktop palominos until they take off some die space. Maybe power now!

BTW, I went to best buy today to see the Compaq Athlon4 notebook and they had none. Only the Sony mobile Duron notebook.
Nevertheless, since AMD has virtually no presence in the notebook market, Athlon4s, Morgans and even mobile Durons will gain them share. Perhaps even upwards of 5% overall market share.

>Well, even allowing a big margin for edge effects I can see
5 rows of 16
2 rows of 14
2 rows of 12
2 rows of 10
2 rows of 8
2 rows of 6

Total = 180<

My recount comes up with:

5 rows of 16
1 row of 15
1 row of 14
3 rows of 13
2 rows of 11
1 row of 9
1 row of 7
1 row of 5

This would be 191 die.
