If it wasn't too late , I could write just how that fits in with the theology of Saivite Hinduism as well , which if Christians actually knew the depth and subtlety of the Hindu's true beliefs, they would simply be filled with an amazing grace. <g> It is a process we go thru , and fathom more . Not a waiting for "judgement" , or sitting in a car wash called Limbo . We are meant to distinguish ourelves thru action and deeds , and by developed use of higher functions . Not necessarily extinguish . But our nature is a layered one , and there is where the mystery begins. It is an exciting thing to live so that you become less ignorant of the truth of your own existence, and dare to know more. Look around at the world and the universe...surely we are part of something extremely rare and beautiful , and something deep within tells us all that this is so . Know thyself , is one of the universal prescriptions, and the Hindu sees God/SIVA at center waiting just behind the veil always . Not enough time here to describe that in any depth. AS an aside , I always like the way the history writer Will Durant said goodbye to his wife , when he was dying : Grow strong , my comrade...that you may stand Unshaken when I fall; that I may know The shattered fragments of my song will At last come to a finer melody in you; That I may tell my heart, that you begin Where passing I leave off...and fathom more. we are all agnostics looking to fathom more .... ...it is delightfully convenient for some to believe that some are saved , and others are not... but that is not the way a resplendant, all loving Creator, filled with Pure Conciousness and Absolute Reality , set things up. The old Sages tell us so... ;-)
