Re: I would have invented the transistor eventually, if no one else had.

And if you'd been Rambus, you'd have applied for a patent on it, even though someone else had already invented it.

It's really great to see that the attempted mugging of the industry by the Rambus gang has been foiled.

At this point, Rambus has lost every significant action regarding their absurd claims to SDRAM and DDR they've brought to court. If they had a prayer of succeeding at anything at this point, their company officers wouldn't be continuing to make public statements claiming an unassailable legal position. Instead, they'd be focused on what the company can do with RDRAM, which they actually did invent.

But RDRAM isn't any good, and is failing in the marketplace, and everyone knows it (with the exception of a few delusional stockholders). Even Tate knows that RDRAM is doomed, and with it the corporation known as Rambus. So he continues to push the fantasy that they'll somehow collect royalties on SDRAM and DDR instead of court ordered fines.

After that last speech, class action shareholder lawsuits are a matter of when, not if.
