Soccer has by far the largest sports audience in the world. The current generation of American children, who excel at the world's most popular sport, will not enjoy watching sports which stop every 15 seconds for a 45 second break.

Football and baseball are too slow for people raised on soccer.

The size of the audience does not matter as much to the relevance of the sport, especially if it is made up of a bunch of couch potato, 12 pack guzzlers.

How many adults participate in football, other than the obligatory 12 ounce curl?
