"AMD positioned to compete aggressively in notebooks and server/workstations in 2HCY01. AMD has new Athlons (code name Palomino) for the mobile and server/workstation markets scheduled for shipment in June. We believe that
Intel's mobile P3 is not as scalable as AMD's mobile Athlon and that, as a result, AMD has an opportunity to take share from Intel in the performance end of the notebook market. Workstation/servers are also a big opportunity for
"AMD, as they represent the high-margin business that AMD has historically not served. We believe that, beginning in the 2HCY01, revenues from this market will grow from a base of essentially zero. Next year, with AMD's expected launch of the Sledgehammer and Clawhammer chips, we should see more share gains and margin expansion."

"AMD seems to be floating down with INTC. I still believe it will return."

Low volume again today...At some point in the not too distant, a major revaluation of AMD has to occur based upon financials and comparative leading edge product offerings...I'd have thought that process would have begun today with the unveiling of the Palomino and its very, very positive implications for AMD...Looks like market funk is carrying the day so far and we may have to wait for the fed rate drop tomorrow to light a fire under an oversold SOXX index which is currently testing 600...INTC and AMD trading at parity at $24.40...Hopefully, we'll see the market strengthen, led by AMD, IBM, GE and any other companies (CPQ soon, now that they have Athlon 4) who are faring well even in this environment, over the next 2 weeks carrying INTC back to $32 and AMD into the high $30's as an increasing number of market pundits are calling for strengthening in Q3, Q4 and Q1!!!
