Joe, power consumption numbers from Tom's article:

Clock-speed Voltage Thermal Design Power

850 1.4V 22
900 1.4V 24
950 1.4V 24
1000 1.4V 24

That's about what I expected after doing the math (-20% power consumption plus lower voltage). This is still below the 1 GHz PIII (which consumes more than 30W) but probably will be well above Tualatin. Another problem is that Tualtin will offer Speed Step 2.0 technology (or whatever they will call it). Looks like AMD has a very small window to establish mobile Athlon and Duron. They will have to compete on price.

Andreas

PS: Looks like Anand is the only reviewer who actually has a sample.

Josef, That's a good read, fairly positive. Lokks like AMD will be able to kill the P-3 and P-4 quite well. celeron is long dead.

Tom provides some numbers. 1 GHz at 1.4V produces 24W of power. Since Intel got away with 1 GHz Piii operating at 33W, there is some room for AMD to play these games as well.
