It is perfectly possible that the world civilization will owe more to India than has hitherto been the case.

To fully appreciate Catholicism you need to impress upon your mind the Mexican bandit approach. Go out shoot 'em up and scamper off to the priest to absolve you. You can have your passions and heaven to.

One thing for sure Catholicism is much different in Mexico and Italy than in North America. No one really listens seriously to the priest in the Latin countries but they listen seriously to their passions.

Passion is one thing anathema to a Buddha boy. To extinguish your passion, and your reason is your decision and your goal. God gave you a free will to follow your desire and if that means subjecting yourself to a mindless organism, endless chanting and droning over incense you are free to just do it.

The newadvent.org material is 1908 and before because the Catholic Encyclopedia stopped publishing then. Over all it is a great resource and the original books were wonderful. I remember the pictures of the whirling dervishes that were incredible. I doubt the Buddhists publish anything on the Catholics.

One thing for sure, all religions, even Buddhism are colored by the culture they occur in or transplanted to.
