The advance of technology may be a major factor in cisco's inventory woes.

Hasn't changed it much afterall? The fact that you can even post that comment is justification that the world has changed dramatically already. I don't know who you are and have never seen you, but you and I have developed a relationship of sorts even so! 6 Years ago, this was only just possible. Now it's ubiquitous. Even this pales wrt how it's changed the way businesses interact with each other and their customers and suppliers. Tremendous amounts of money is being saved from the efficiencies gained through the use of Internet technology. I'm flabbergasted that you and Victor so blithely disregard these radical changes in economics, and yes, the world.

P.S. You're right, I don't know how to throw in the towl. It's too fun to debate. :)

Not yet
or
Near term

I wouldn't venture the single digit theory myself, but the market will do what it will do and we will all learn the truth. If I was venturing thoughts about the future, the best reference would be the past. With new technology companies, that is where it falls down...what past ?

Hi Stan StockBroker
Thank you for being an initial test subject for our cryogenic tank. When we initially put you in suspension in 1970 we weren't sure we could wake you back up, but a in a pleasing turn of affairs, one of the sanitary engineers unplugged your unit and you seemed to have revived by yourself.

Stan's first day at work would consist of changing the way he perceives value. There may be some value to being a Luddite, that is not for me to decide. Applying what he had learned at StockBroker School in 1965, Stan StockBroker would clearly have some questions about valuation. "Amazon vs Barnes and Noble", about valuation "Yahoo", and about valuation "Microsoft". mindmeld makes a good point when he argues that recovery is likely, when is the big question. "eternal optimism" is not what drives these companies, it is potential.

My aunt will not have a cordless phone in her house, "people can listen, they can cause cancer etc..." she has however accepted the ubiquitous button dialer and her last rotary dial has been retired. The computer is for the grandkids and it's a good one, they like games. Maybe, just maybe, we get colour bank machines wether we need them or not, I am working on that.

<< LOL... mindmeld you will never throw in the towel!>>

i think MM has a lot more $$ still in csco that he lets on.. nobody cheerleads like this 24/7 unless he/she has lots at stake.

My sympathies go out to any mates who've stayed on the listing ship to this sorry level...
Victor

John, even with the recent Nasdaq the bulls have the upper hand here in the short-term. This volume dry up is pointing for a rather substantial (15% or more) move up or down in the short-term, more likely up IMHO.

I am posting this now by the way, so idiots like swisstrader and mindmeld who are hanging on a thread don't come back to harass me if we do get a brief rally.

Me thinks that ONE more bullish rally is enough to suck every lemming on this thread further into this black hole abyss.

Then, come around mid summer, it'll all probably go to hell...just like last year transposed by 3 months.

JMHO.
