No woman, no cry
Bob Marley (d. 5/14/81, Miami, Florida)

No woman, no cry (Repeat 4 times)

'Cause I remember when we used to sit
In the government yard in Trenchtown
Oba, ob-serving the hypocrites
As they would mingle with the good people we meet
Good friends we have had, oh good friends we've lost along the way
In this bright future you can't forget your past
So dry your tears I say

No woman, no cry
No woman, no cry
Little darlin' don't shed no tears
No woman, no cry

Said, said, said I remember when we used to sit
In the government yard in Trenchtown
And then Georgie would make the fire light
Log wood burnin' through the night
Then we would cook corn meal porridge
Of which I'll share with you

My feet is my only carriage
So I've got to push on through
But while I'm gone...

Ev'rything's gonna be alright
Ev'rything's gonna be alright
Ev'rything's gonna be alright
Ev'rything's gonna be alright
Ev'rything's gonna be alright
Ev'rything's gonna be alright
Ev'rything's gonna be alright
Ev'rything's gonna be alright

So, no woman, no cry
No, no woman, no woman, no cry
Oh, little darling, don't shed no tears
No woman, no cry

No woman, no woman, no woman, no cry
No woman, no cry
Oh, my little darlin' please don't shed no tears
No woman, no cry, yeah

Excellent compilation, OMD...

Especially "Movies and America"

American Beauty, Shankshank Redemption are 2 of one of my favorites. Totally forgot about BattleCry of Freedom...I taped the entire Civil War series, need to dig that out and listen again.

I sent my daughter a compilation with some Tony Bennett, she told me she feels like Annette Benning riding around in her car.<g>

Thanks for posting that.

OMD,

The hub just came home with the tickets for the whole family to go see the Trisha Yearwood Concert, that I had linked to previously here.

And two tickets to see Mary Chapin Carpenter!!

OK OK so neither will compare to your recent concert adventure......but it sure will be some good music!!!

Jane

Stuart Sutcliffe: From the Beatles to Backbeat Exhibit Opens
An art-school buddy of John Lennon's, Sutcliffe was one of the original Beatles. In late 1960, after performing in Hamburg, he chose to quit the group and remain in Germany to pursue his art career. He died of a brain hemorrhage in April 1962. The exhibit, on loan from Pauline Sutcliffe and the Beatles Story museum in Liverpool, includes letters, notes, set lists and other items documenting the Beatles' earliest years, one of Sutcliffe's guitars and several of his paintings. This exhibit is scheduled to open on May 15, 2001 and will run through September 3, 2001.
