How does Rambus collect their royalties? What I mean is that I've read all sorts of numbers about Rambus charging between 1%-3.5%. This is a percentage of what? The spot price of DRAM at the time of production? The value of the contract at the time of sale? Or off the profits of the producers? What happens if I made a ton of DRDRAM (or DDR) when the price much higher and now I have to sell them dirt cheap? How is Rambus' royalty calculated then?

TIA
