Oh Neenny, I absolutely broke down and cried when I heard that reading. Just reading it again leaves me speechless. Yes, I video taped the series, I remember once I watched it completely though (the whole 9 hours until nearly dawn) morning one weekend at the lake when the weather became un-cooperative. That series just completely blows me away. I'm so glad you posted that letter. I'm going to have to dust off the tapes and watch again, although, I wonder if the series is available on DVD now. Anyone who doesn't understand how we have defined literacy down in the country need only watch that series to realize how far we have slipped.....
