They're switching from Sun to Xeon, aren't they?

Of course, Xeon might be a little more well-established than Merced. But Merced is just a first step for the Itanium platform, which itself counts as another step toward winning against Sun.

Actually, there switching from Solaris to Linux which enables Merced.
