scumbria,

Any network of desktop computers is a cluster.

Do they have to be on the desktop?

Windows is not a good OS to support the development of useful software for clusters.

Why not, they sit on the desktop.

Scumbria,

re: "It is being used by most businesses. Any network of desktop computers is a cluster."

I'm starting to agree with Eric. I thought we were talking about an effective "network cluster", where you could use distributed computing.

So I guess the your opinion of the downside, that I asked you about before, is that it doesn't work well with Windows? And Windows is the prefered OS of most IT managers. So the trade-off isn't currently appealing?
