Hey there!! Personally, it could be some time before we see the plane return. Since Bejing has made such a stink about these flights and the unauthorized landing, permitting the plane to be repaired and flown out of Hainan would obviously prove to be a bit embarrassing.

So they want us to break it down and move it by ship.

But that's better than most probably thought... I kinda figured that they wouldn't be inclined to give it back at all. Had it been Clinton in office, we wouldn't even be trying to get it back.

And btw, personally I think the EP-3 was forced down. I don't believe the US pilot had to land in China once he recovered from that dive. But I believe that the US is probably "covering up" for the Chinese out of fear that this action by the PLA and the military faction might grow out of control.

So I think our folks told the pilot that this is what his "story" was going to be with regard to why he landed.

But the only people who will know are those who listened to the intercepted radio transmissions.
