Anyone have a list of natural gas takeover plays. Read lots of comments about those with properties in the rocky mountains. Some of these below actually have rocky mountain properties just like Barrett that got taken over by WMB at great price. We know that Shell is still out there with lots of cash for alternative buys now that their hostile bid for BRR did not work out.
I own a bunch of them but am looking for others..under 2billion market cap.

The direction of these stocks seems to be straight up upon every takeover story...and these deals happen every couple of days...and they are going at nice premiums.

Here is my partial list:
PPP, OEI, LD, EVG, POG, TMBR, WGR, XTO, MND, APC.

Actually, APC and MND might be a bit large. The takeover today of HSE by KMG was about a 1.3 billion deal. The important point to note is that KMG is only a 6billion plus company...and its stock only dropped ONLY 0.48 to 70.09.
That is a sign to other potential acquirors that the risk to their own stock price is not so much....leading to faster deals.

After all, these smaller natural gas players don't want to keep waiting for higher stock prices as there is always risk of a downturn in the sector.
I bet many have learned their lessons from the way dot.com stocks had collapsed (and tech in general).
Might as well lock in the gains with combination of stock and cash deals..which seems to be the norm in this sector.
