Scumbria, what Bush wants to do is develop the Athabasca oil sands in Canada that hold many times more reserves than Saudi Arabia.

Cheney wants to develop more nuclear power plants which is a great idea because there is no shortage of uranium.

Just think all these Republicans going out of their way so you have cheap power and can post away on SI to your hearts content.

What will the United States of the future be like? Will we transport and use oil, relying on marketplace deterrents to minimize oil spills and bio-engineered microbes to eat up the few that occur? Or, will we succumb to the Demolib pessimistic demand for a timid, unchanging world that eliminates the oil spill problem by having us huddle around wood fires and drive donkey carts?

The future is full of complex messiness and we should acknowledge and embrace that reality instead of trying to circumvent and control it.

A creative, vibrant America continuously looking with hope toward the future demands we take the optimistic path, and believe in ourselves and our ability to innovate.
