Gottfried, that's a good site worth a bookmark. He was saying sell the May 50's if AMAT hits 54.50. I would say about the same except that the June 50's or the June 55's should be sold.

His suggestion comes on May 10th when there are only 9 trading days left in the options period. I'm going to e-mail him to find out the reason for the delayed call.

I do know that there are a group of option writers that wait until the last 7 to 10 trading days of a period to write covered calls because they want to see about how the month is going to play out.

I still believe that we are entering the golden age for covered call writing because there is absolutely nothing that will drive the Nasdaq or the QQQ up 30% near term. And the volatility is not going to decrease.

In this market pick your favorite tech stock and write a "at the money covered call" one month out. This will net about 8 to 10% a month. Play with quality cheap stocks like CSCO, ORCL, SUNW, CPQ, because a $2000.00 error (stock purchase price) is preferred over a $5000.00 error (AMAT, NVLS, KLAC).

Now you guys know everything I know plus everything you know and I'm at a disadvantage.

Regards, Jerome
