The fact that Jim Grant's web site published the article by Fred Hickey shouldn't paint Fred Hickey as a Jim Grant. Fred has been very bullish on techs before, but not for the last two-three years. Fred is very into tech investing, just not at inflated valuations. His statistics and information are impeccably accurate. Dismiss him if you want, but don't do it because he's on Jim Grant's web site.

The fact that Fred Hickey is bearish on technology is the reason he is being featured in Jim Grant's always bearish newsletter. Is Jim still advocating investing in hard assets for an inflation we, ten years later, are still waiting for? Can't say I have kept up.

If you reread my post I did not paint Fred Hickey as Jim Grant but on second thought maybe he is moving in that direction. Sorry to hear Fred made the wrong call and was not bullish on techs for the last three years...two years of which he turned out to be wrong. By the way if you see Fred clue him in on all the rate cuts at the Federal Reserve he seems not to have noticed. Seems like Fred is not being persuaded that these cuts will be effective. By the way can Fred give us a hard number as to the amount of technological overhang we have in this economy or does Fred just have a feel, much like the rest of us, and just make a prediction?

Fred, you are dismissed!
