Didn't they just license the phase shift technology for their core logic fabrication processes?? That could have been developed in house. It wasn't. You are really applying your theory very selectively. Also, you call Silicon Germanium Bipolar and Silicon Germanium BiCMOS technologies a niche? I thought Intel was serious about getting into the communications area.

Do you have a reference for anything regarding phase shifting? Regarding the core logic processes, my point still stands. Intel develops their own, and AMD doesn't. That tells me where the true innovation lies between the two...
