Exchange deployments that I see are typically disk-limited, not CPU-limited.



Itanium is not a speed demon, nor did I mean to imply I was speed limited. Disk is one problem (get an EMC/NetApp) the other is addressable memory. This is where Itanium will shine, you can keep a much larger database in memory with Itanium than Xeon based servers. This is where the performance boost will come from, not clock speed.
