To a degree, that is true. The post- War period has raised the condition of the average citizen pronouncedly, and certain ills, like racism, have been confronted with marked progress. But there is reason to be disturbed, too, when children shoot one another over designer clothing and inner city schools are deteriorating from lack of discipline. It is not nonsensical to worry that aspects of the culture have deteriorated......
