The good thing is that economic development makes possible the contemplation of a time when most people have access to basic amenities, and can be dignified members of society. Unfortunately, the precarious position of a lot of families is highly exploitable. The balance that has to be achieved in underdeveloped countries is sensitivity to the families' need for additional income, and protection of the children.
