Which statement is true? To a beach goer in Florida, ice is cold. To a scientist studying absolute zero, a normal ice cube is warm" Let me paraphrase and connect your two statements so that you will understand what it is you said: 1). Ice cubes feel hot to a scientist studying absolute zero, 2). Ice cubes feel cold to a beach goer in Florida. Irrespective of the truth or falsity of these two statements, they do not involve any contradiction whatsoever! I did not say that all statements are contradictions! I said that nmany of the statements in the bible are contradictions. It is a waste of time for you to give out examples of statements which are not contradictions!"As for the Bible, I would maintain that nobody alive today and living on earth has direct knowledge of the history of the this planet and humanity, therefore it is impossible at this time to state with certainty by human experience(your benchmark) that the Bible is contradictory. By asserting this, you are depriving yourself of any reason for believing the contrary. But that is ok because what you said was nonsense. Logical propositions are experienced in the now. They do not require any magical qualities such as time travel, to test their validity. It is true that we cannot state that such and such as recorded in the bible is either true or false. We can however say that, IF such and such(a) is true, THEN such and such(b)must be false. For instance, IF it is true that Jonah was swallowed by a fish, THEN it is false in referring to the exact same account, that he was swallowed by a whale--and vice versa. THis is what is meant by contradiction. And it is contradictions which prove that the bible must logically be full of lies or mistakes or both. If you still do not understand this, then it is probably because you would rather not. You would probably have no problem identifying contradictions in the myths of the Grecian Gods, or the Scandinavian, or any other...<ggg> (or maybe you just don't believe that there are contradictions--anywhere??) :)
