Epi, why wouldn't Dell opt for the smaller packaging version of the Mobile A4?

But I agree it would be more than a cosmetic change.

Epi, The mobo footprint can be made to fit an existing Intel based laptop since it will have all the same connections to the outside world it is just a cad exercise in board layout. they will of course test the mobo and make sure there are no heat problems, but I see this as a minimal operation in terms of fabrication. Remember AMD will provide typical layouts and all that is needed to interfacing to the assorted DVD, Floppy etc and these should be doable easily through standard interfaces.

The mobo needs to be made. it will have all the same connection as an Intel mobo and will drop into the same case. All they will need to do is change the labels, plus any other visual changes needed.

We do this now with desktops that conform to the ATX mobo atandard. Why not laptops? I am sure Dell has standards for these as well for reasons of saving time/money etc.
