Joe, As far as Hitler was concerned Catholics were a threat to the 1000 year Reich! Having Pope as their spiritual leader, they could not have been trusted! (Strangly, Stalin was of the same mind.) Toward the last days of the Reich, Hitler became facinated with Moslems! After he met the Mufti of Jerusalem in Berlin he is reported to have said " Islam was a better religion for Germans than Christianity! He also admired the fighting spirt of Moslem Cherkasians, Lesghinas, Crimean Tattars, and Azari's, fighting in Waffen SS units.
