This Bracknell experience is exactly what Novell should be looking to replicate in Toronto and throughout the US. Its been about six years since this type of system got off the ground. Blacksburg in the US started the ball rolling with the use of the internet to get information, but Novell's digitalme identity management software and P2P projects mesh nicely here and make possible the next major advance in the use of the internet.

Unfortunately Novell does not have the structure or management savvy to put together these forward looking projects. Novell moves too slowly. I've tried to get them interested in this stuff for a long time and I've given up.

Novell continues to push Netware for Small Businesses as if that is going to be the small server end of the market for them. Its really the Bracknell experience that will use directories to manage large numbers of residents accounts that would give them a small businees type presence today.

But you know, these guys were all trained in selling LANS and that is about the extent of their creativity.....
