Uh, yeah, that's often exactly what we are doing, isn't it? Good phrasing. Tjat really makes the stupidity of the current approach stand out.

Treat it as a medical problem rather then a legal one. Legalize and tax the crap out of it and remove the profit incentive for the gangs.
Better to tax it at a reasonable rate, I think. High taxes create black markets of their own.

I doubt everyone on earth is going to run right out and toke up just because it is legal the same way everyone
isn't running around drunk.

Were marijuana and drugs legal, I personally would leave the drugs strictly alone. they can kill you easily and unexpectedly. Might occassionally use pot; maybe not, too.
