Epinephrine, this is now the second time you've understated AMD's market share: do you think that a 20-25% consumer market share and a tricky zippy new laptop chip (which isn't even in a mobile form factor yet) is enough to make Dell cast aside his previous convictions?

AMD has 21% market share of ALL microprocessors sold. That is probably 5% corporate, 20% small business and 35% consumer.

As far as DELL convictions go, their only stated conviction is to make money by being the low cost producer of commoditized products in growing markets. In the current market environment Intel can't retaliate if DELL offers an Athlon product. What are they going to do? Raise the price of P4's so even fewer are sold? I looked for, but could not find, the most recent comments Michael Dell made about the "AMD question." But I recall he said something like, "If AMD has a superior product than Intel, then we will sell it." Not very doctrinaire at all.
