Goldman raises Network Appliance EPS view

NEW YORK, May 16 (Reuters) - Goldman Sachs on Wednesday said analyst Laura Conigliaro raised her outlook for 2002 profits per share for computer storage maker Network Appliance Inc. (NasdaqNM:NTAP - news).

In a report, the investment bank said her estimate rose to 18 cents a share from 15 cents. The stock is rated market outperformer.

Further details were not immediately available.

After markets closed on Tuesday, the company met expected fourth-quarter results. It said competition was not hurting it and added that the economic downturn had flattened.

The stock closed on Tuesday at $22.53.
