Mark,

Whatever criticisms you have of Boulder, the residents have avoided most of the mistakes of every other high-tech center in the world.

Boulder County is about where Santa Clara County was 20 years ago. If the decision making process is turned over to those of the Longmont unlimited growth mentality, Boulder can expect to be as big a mess as SV in 20 years.

I certainly hope that the Boulder vision wins out.

Scumbria

......But, it's not just a 'Boulder' thing, I'm certain this is not the only place where political/philosophical diversity and notions of individual responsibility and liberty have been stifled in the last couple decades... in favor of a nanny-state perspective on all activity - economic, educational, personal, recreational, political and otherwise......

You are so absolutely right Mark. Heck, just look at Seattle. Boeing..... Why do you all think they packed up and left town anyway? Government regulation strangling their ability to compete and taxes. Microsoft will probably be next. I'm no expert on politics but I have lived here for most of my life. Lived 6 years in Basalt Colorado, then returned to Seattle for some stupid reason. I am surrounded by intellectually challenged liberals that absolutely refuse to think out of their little boxes. It is their way or no way. At least this is what I have experienced for the most part. I won't even bring politics up anymore, they are so narrow. M
