The word "cycle" has changed in investor's minds from semi-equip business cycles to semi-equip price movements. I am not sure which you are referring to and where you think we are in each.

If I don't get my buy targets, I will be forced to reevaluate the semi-equip cycle as a sure-fire, no-brainer investment strategy. It is very difficult if the market wants to pay $50 for no earnings next quarter and possibly none or losses the following two. My only consolation is to realize that old habits die hard. The same community that paid $400 for Yahoo is now paying $50 for AMAT. A tremendous improvement, I think, but still room for quite a bit more.
