Thanks.
Interesting strategy. Did he apply it to a portfolio? I'd be interested to see how it played out. Usually, there is no free lunch and my guess is he missed much of the upside and then lost the 10% a year on the downside... I prefer to go 80:20 and take profits from the 80 to buy fixed in the 20% and then use the 20% to buy when the market goes down. I've been buying stocks the last 6 months that I MOSTLY think are at bottoms when valued on price/sales, price/cash, etc... not pe or peg. It has been working but it will fail if the market really does do what the perma bears have been predicting for a decade or more. I noticed he was bearish in 1997... I made significant money just buying some stocks below unity price/book in 1998 (LRCX at $3.33 was my best buy but UTEK at $15 looks pretty good also for that time) Hard to have less risk that taking 150% of ORIGINAL INVESTMENT out of the stock after it runs up 800% or so...

Problem is now it is harder to find that sort of potential... but there are a few... and I hope to have em. ;)

funny you mention cisco.. i was never able to buy it as it never made my valuation criteria. Felt stupid for many years until I point to what I bought instead that is still holding up well.

hwp is not making me look very smart... at least my tax problem is now not nearly as bad... 8( Still, I stick to my plan on selling it down over the years and buying better alternatives. Took 20 yrs to dca in... can take a few to DCA down... I did sell half my shares before it peaked out so I did well enough...

What happened to Michael Burke? I can't seem to find a profile for him...
siliconinvestor.com

I click on his name in that article and I get taken to the home page!

Is there a way to file posts here? I wanted to file that article as I had to look in my trash to find your post to me with that link.

Thanks
Kirk (long and smiling today) out!
