I agree that CNBC chose unusual terminology in referring to CC earnings guidance as a warning. What I don't understand is why you think it's important. Saying that Street expectations are too high hardly sounds like a glowing endorsement, no matter what you call it.

"No, I don't agree with your statement, and from what I can tell so far today, neither does the market."

I think that investors either think this is as bad as it's going to get for AMAT, or they are reacting to the Fed's expressed and demonstrated desire to support the stock market, or both.

P.S. In case you still think I am biased against AMAT, I do own the stock.
