If you are talking in terms of allay fear on the part of the Fed the Fed can't make it work. The banking industry is in touch with the general populous or you would see mortgage rates well below where they are now.

Due to the fact we both have read the same words and interpreted them differently, can we both agree that the free market is the only way to determine value?

If we both agree on this than is it possible that we could agree that our dollar has a high probability of not being as valuable as was?
The premise of the above possibility What Volcker wouldn't admit is that the source of disorder is government pretense to knowledge as seen in continuing and pervasive interventionism.
