To paraphrase a recent post on the AMAT thread: You have a lot of conviction in your opinions and perhaps three is some general justification. However, anyone who has been in the stock market for any length of time learns to have some degree of humility about their convictions.

Thus the following statement clearly has equal validity to your own:

'Looks like maybe the SOX hit a long term bottom this morning. I want to buy something here. While I realize some technical indicators suggest there still MAY be some short term risk, my experience in this sector tells me we're currently starting the next up cycle. The spate of companies indicating a 2nd half recovery strongly support this perception.'

In short, technical indicators do not substitute for good judgement.
