Your covered call strategy sounds spot on to me for the present meandering environment. If you can keep making 10% plus per month, you will have an outstanding year.

You asked last month whether people really believe that stocks have an intrinsic value. My own belief is that companies have several intrinsic values ranging from price equilibria that are mediated between supply and demand (technical analysis) to fundamental valuation metrics each with some utility if you buy into a given set of assumptions. But perhaps the key thing to keep in mind about all measurements of so called intrinsic value, is that they are only rough baselines or models, and that stocks will regularly oscillate in a range from as much as 20% above or below intrinsic value depending on a wide variety of internal and external circumstances.

if you a looking for a tight channel to trade in, how do you handle what is happening now ; new channels appear to be forming in amat, say qcom; so do you wait for confirmation of a new channel; if you look to trade for several points up and then you get out; do you think trailing stops are better when there is a rise in channel (which may actually be a rising trend;) also how do you buy in three stages if you use tight stops-- does that mean you get stopped out twice and then on the third dip, do you increase the size of the shares-- thank you rs
P S-- I am sot sure why you make your stops so tight ; these high beta stocks move sometimes alot during the day so perhaps you could have less losing trades if the stops were not so tight-- rs
