Bruce,

I think a lot of us who know the sector as well as we do will tend to be ahead of the masses. I wouldn't short any small or medium sized E & P's right now, but the market leaders in both OSX and XNG should be good shorts.

"I have felt like the proverbial 'deer in headlights'"

I think there is something you can take for this condition?

OSX coming on down as I type.

Good luck,

Jim

SOB bragging how he did not have "one quarter" in the patch

Don't be picking on Slider now. The guy has called all seventeen of the last two OS collapses.<g>

Hi Bruce,

Re: What's happening? Why now, in violation of all principles and guidelines learned over the past 15 years, is the patch climbing a wall of worry?

Posible answer: A "sea change" is occurring in the minds of investors.

Well, I don't know the minds of a lot of investors. But I do know that the DoE, FERC, and the Administration are all doin' 'bout as much as is humanly possible to grease the skids for the patch. Seems that could be a factor in the mindset of some of those whose speculative dollars are propping up the sector. 'Course, when they see the builds are more than a statistical anomaly and that the supply builds are merely one more boom/bust wiggle, they'll all head for the exits at the same time. Then again, a couple more good disasters like the St. Croix fire could postpone the inevitable.

JM2C, Ray :)

DId you ever figure out why EEX did that big $1 increase a few days ago and held it even after the profit takers left?
