Me voy a votar ... literally in spanish that means 'i am going away to vote' but really in common usage in my other village near the 17th parallel it means 'i'm off to take a dump' ... [seriously - it is a profoundly poignant comment on the suitability of our species to govern, or to be governed ... and is specifically meant as such] ... however three spits north of the 49th you may take it literally ... today anyway. I'm going to vote for a quality candidate, regardless of all the party bullshit ... as it happens, i know the person .. and as it happens, i don't know any of the others ... i was swayed considerably by the platform of the marihoochie party ['¡smoke and mirrors!' - now wouldn't that make a fine slogan for a cannabis 'n coke party], but that was over thirty years ago and the voices are becoming somewhat muted now ... there are no Rhinos running, and so within the available choices, and assuming that nobody else buys me a beer on the way to the polls, i plan to vote for the devil i know ..... but i tell ya this - for those in Adrian's riding, a dump in her honour could be a wiser move than one for the redundant and outdated forms du jour of the CCF, Social Credit, et al.
