My experience has been that, in the absence of strong market directions; ie. buying or selling pressure - the MaxPain points have a better than 50% chance of predicting where the stock is ending up at.

But please bear in mind that, in a volatile market, the MaxPain is a moving target. I am not certain how "current" they updated the data att the website that I provided.

It is pretty amazing that a lot of the high-profile stocks will finish the options expiry week near a nice, round number. What a coincidence! <g>

PS: Another example you may wish to check out is JNPR. THis stock spent quite a few days trading under $55, just to make room for the anticipated surge following AG's rate cut. I think - always thought - that it will close out the May options week at $60, and that's where I placed my bets for my short-term option plays.
