Thanks for the insight into the unregulated nature of BLS DSL. I didn't know that.

Re: PacBell DSL - I can happily report at least one buddy of mine who is content with the DSL service in San Francisco. Of course, when it was installed, my friend (who's a computer consultant) had to shove the PacBell installer into a corner and do the connections himself. Else, he'd never have gotten up and running. <w>
