If I only would have asked for a ball. Those guys were chewing the fat as they had a runaway. About 18 games ahead at the time. Bet you never had Mickey Mantle thunk your bean for luck.

I also got to point out bonefish for Ted Williams. He was in a boat and I was way up on the dock. He came by every morning. He could lay a fly line out better than he could hit.

Tommy Lasorda, even in his dotage would take the doubters out to the batters box and challenge them to hit his curveball. Made a fool out of most of them.
