cmos rf or cmos analog means using a standard cmos logic process (most of the time even without double-poly) in innovative ways to get the performance you need. there is no need for a special process. this way you can port your design to another similarly featured process relatively easily and reap all the benefits of all those inexpensive foundries. of course if you're behemoth, you can afford to design an expensive, difficult to control, proprietary process to do the same thing years after others and advertise it as "innovation"; then lose $2B in "other" category :-) i am still waiting a non x86 isa developed by intel to be successful (arm isa doesn't count)

FWIW, Rob Black, radio investment show "Stock Talk" host, mentioned the combination chip announcement as "huge" on his show just now. I think he's the next Bob Brinker, or better. Don't know how much he knows about tech, but he thinks the analysts may be all over this. AH trading didn't indicate this. We'll see.
