Tomorrow might be a day of throwing in the towel for a lot of shorts. Just thinking out loud here. If we get over 2200 and go into the close strong, there might even be more short covering then than we saw today. Longs have no real reason to sell right here unless things break down substantially and it looks like 2200 will fail again. In that case, we might see a stalemate or a big rush to the door. The stalemate scenario might take until Friday to pan out. Giving everyone on both sides time to make the right decision.
