Intel to form alliance with BT - FT
LONDON, May 17 (Reuters) - Chip giant Intel will announce on Thursday an alliance with British Telecommunications Plc (quote from Yahoo! UK & Ireland: BT.L) to develop wireless applications, the Financial Times reported.

The former British telecoms monopoly would formally endorse Intel's communications chip technology, the paper said in its Thursday edition.

Intel and BT would collaborate on a range of applications for business professionals. The first would be a wireless-based application to create ``electronic working groups'' that span geographic locations and different networks, the paper said.
